Yeah, two weeks left in New Jersey then it's back to school for me. I'm pretty excited about going back, mainly becase it gets me out of working at Canal's for a few months. I'm going back there for the holidays but that's about it, I'm not going back next summer at all. There's not too much to say, but I got some new C.D.'s so I decided to write a little bit about them in here because they are good shit. First one I got is the new Silverchair album "Young Modern" and it is awesome. There is a band who has had a different sound on every album they've released. The new one just proves that fact. I don't really know what words can be used to describe it, it is just brilliantly done. Daniel Johns amazes me more and more with every album. Their last album "Diorama" was not a big hit with me at first but I love that one as well. I wish I would've been able to go see them last Saturday when they played the TLA but I'm broke, plus it sold out, so that wasn't going to happen. The other new album I picked up is The Starting Line's newest "Direction." The name pretty much describes it all. They went in a complete new direction with this one, and I must say, I like the change. It was hard to follow up their first album "Say It Like You Mean It" and they couldn't do it with their second "Based On A True Story." However, this new album is great. "Based On A True Story" had a few good songs on it, but overall, it wasn't really that great of an album. The new one has a much harder rock sound to it and Kenny's vocals have definitely become better over the years as he has finally hit puberty. As of now, my favorite song on the album is probably "21" because it can be related to by most 21 year-olds even though I am almost 22. And as for the Silverchair album, it is hard to pick a favorite but right now I'm going to say that it's "Insomnia." It has a different sound to it and just sticks out to me. Not much else to say other then that...16 days until I go back to school and 46 days until the new Motion City Soundtrack c.d. comes out as well as New Found Glory's. Can't wait for them, that is going to be a great day.
Today's celebrity birthday - Kevin Smith (Silent Bob) is 37
Until next time...
