New Fall Out Boy C.D. - "Infinity On High"
Yeah, so the new F.O.B. album doesn't come out for another couple of weeks, but I got a copy of it already. To be completely honest, I was disappointed. I've only listened to the c.d. one time through but it definitely didn't meet my expectations as I was hoping it would. It was one of Alternative Press's most anticipated albums of 2007 (good thing they didn't get the cover!). It was an anticipated album of mine too, but now that I have it, big letdown. I know that they could've made such a better album, but it seems like they didn't even try. To start off, the first track has an intro from Jay-Z. I don't know who the fuck they are trying to be now getting a rapper to do an intro for them even if they are on his label. I have no problem with Jay-Z, he's a great rapper and I have all of his albums, but Fall Out Boy had no reason to have him on their album. It just doesn't make any sense to me. You know what else doesn't make sense, it's been a few years since Fall Out Boy last released an album, and then they released this thing. "Take This To Your Grave" was a phenomenal record. My favorite record of theirs by far. "From Under The Cork Tree" was a great album, not as good as the first one, but it was definitely good and had a lot of good songs. "Infinity on High" doesn't do a justice to either of them. They lost a lot of true fans and picked up a bunch of 13 year old girls when they released their second album and got the attention of radios and MTv. They are going to lose a lot more fans now, not because of the little girls, but just because they could've done such a better record than they actually did. Yeah, I'm sitting here talking shit on it, but if I listen to it a few more times and I end up liking it, then I'll come back on here and I'll take this post down and put up a new one. But as of now, to me, the record isn't that good.
